Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am currently debating/praying about starting/leading a program for ages 6-11 in our parish. We have some fabulous programs for the Jr/sr high, but nothing for the lower grades. I think we are really missing something by not having a program for them. I believe that if you get them involved in the parish young, into something they enjoy, they feel part of the parish, and will bring their own experience and joy to it as adults.

I was thinking to start fairly small, a fun night/afternoon once a month, or every other month, depending what our pastor feels about it.

Are there existing programs out there? I know our older group uses LifeTeen, but there is nothing within that for the age I'm aiming to include. I'd love some direction on how to put some preliminary plans together for the kids. I had considered perhaps Little Flowers, but that is only girls and the other program only boys. At this point, that isn't what I am aiming at, even though I think the program is great.

Any ideas and suggestions are very welcome and encouraged!

thank you
