A few of them I adapted from existing tales: Auld Mary's story in DOWN TO THE BONNY GLEN; the one about the girl whose head gets changed into a dog's head (is that one in FAR SIDE? I forget—I altered many details but the plot is a very old Scottish tale); the Puddingstone Giants story in one of the Charlotte books (there is a poem about this legend).
So I think the Charlotte series will be a great take-off series to follow. I plan for Chels to keep on the AG books on her own. We will read the Charlotte series together this summer, while Annie listens in.
