Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Anyone have any experience with this curriculum? It looks fairly CM-friendly, using quality literature to learn grammar, spelling, vocabulary, etc. Dictation, narration, and copywork all seem to be integrated as part of the curriculum.

Thoughts?

We used Spelling Wisdom this year for dictation and copywork. We also used ILL (which my son really didn't like at all) for some gentle grammar, memorization, and narration. The thought that LLATL would incorporate all of those things along with the literature selections that my DS is reading is very appealing to me.

Oh, and the English major in me likes the idea of really studying literature.

Oh, wanted to add - I'm considering this for my oldest, who will be 11 this fall. Not for any of the younger children.

I used it for a few years when I was being home-schooled.... One year (4th grade) had a great section on researching your state!

Overall it was easy to do, with very little teacher prep and pretty enjoyable. It could be a good way to ease into copywork and dictation if you need some hand holding.

However it drove me absolutely crazy that there were little excerpts from all sorts of books with no context, and I didn't always have time to track down each book from the library....

In case you tried to search for past responses - I know the search feature is a bit touchy right now and also we haven't done a good reminder about making sure to remind people of the changes to it - like now you have to specify scope to search further back than last 3 months. If no setting is chosen it defaults to searching only last 3 months - so a lot of searches look like nothing is here.

So here are the threads I could pull up which discuss this program. Hope it helps in addition to the current responses.

Thanks for those links, Mary! I didn't find many of those when I did a search. That's helpful.

Any recent reviews?
