Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

One of my teens comes completely undone when she makes a mistake in one of her journals. The look of wite-out horrifies her. Is there an alternative? She's a perfectionist, so mistakes in a treasured journal aren't something she can easily forget.

Pencil?

I'm the same way about mistakes like that. I HATE to scratch things out or use wite-out, especially in something personal like a journal or a letter (but even on grocery lists and stuff like that, it bothers me). So I almost never use ink unless I have to, like on checks or to sign legal documents. I use .5 mm mechanical pencils with the "clickers" on the side almost exclusively.

Or I type it up on the computer where I can edit without a trace...

Can she collage a keepsake on the page? Maybe a pressed leaf or flower will cover the error and look pretty.

Here in Germany children often begin writing with a fountain pen in 2nd grade and learn to correct using a ruler to strike with ONE 1 line through the mistake. This works really well for neat children. One hardly notices the mistake at a glance. The key is using a ruler.

This is how I was taught and it really makes a difference. Strike through the mistake with one simple line.
