Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was recently just saved from exposing my daughter to trash! Lyddie was a pretty rotton movie we got from the library, one of the Feature films for families series. I thought maybe the book would be better so I looked it up online...I just read a review of the book online and it is horrid!
does anyone have a book list or something that can lead me in a better direction than flying by the seat of my pants at the library? I have "Honey for a Childs heart" already

I think there is Honey for a Teens Heart, but I haven't read it.

There are lots of sources, including the archives here, for good recommendations, though not necessarily longer, comprehensive lists in one place. My inclination is to start a list somewhere and start just adding to it as you come across titles from sources you trust.

You might also consider an e reader as there are many Classics available for free online. Many classic children/youth authors wrote prolifically, though only a few of their books make "lists." Louisa May Alcott, LM Montgomery, and Gene Stratton Porter come to mind.

Also, Bethlehem Books has started releasing many books affordably as e-books only. I would consider them a trusted source.

You don't say how old your daughter is but maybe some of these will help.

Here's a list of "Literature of Honor for Boys" that Lindsay posted in other threads.
