Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I posted today about my experience yesterday at the First Lady Luncheon. The theme was "First Americans." I was having a fun time thinking how this little luncheon was something that so many of "Real Learning" folks could have whipped up. I kept thinking that even as grown ups we don't stop having our little themes and studies.

The little touches like turquoise beads strung on the leather for the program, gifts includes turquoise necklaces and straw bags, perfume called "Turquoise", and the food, of course....all recall the native American heritage. The entertainment included some Native Indian (not sure what tribe) music and hoop dance, then this young lady, Jana.

That sounds like such a lovely event. The menu sounds great - thanks for sharing it. And you're right as an adult I still love "theme" events. They are fun to put together and to attend.

I think that Jana has a lovely version of Amazing Grace. It is blasting out the computer speakers right now.

Sorry about that...I didn't notice that album cover until after I looked the second time. Yes, she was definitely more clothed.

I'm glad you like it, Jen! I would agree...she sang that yesterday. It's nice rendition, singing in her native tongue...and coming from me, who doesn't particularly like that song...that's saying a lot.
