Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has anybody had any good experiences with Foerster's Algebra 1?

We use the Foerster's Algebra 2. My dd is about a quarter of the way through it and is really enjoying it. She teaches herself, but we are getting the Math Without Borders Dvds (they are in the mail) to go with the rest of it as it seems like it would be good material to be 'taught' (and I am not following along- my math skills from University, way far back, are very rusty!!).

We used the Jacobs books before this and he reccomends moving on to Foerster- they are different but still have that same feel of someone who loves math and knows how to teach it.

The book itself is very much non-frilly- no information bubbles or distracting material. It has a very clean layout (my kids do better with this.)

Sorry we haven't used Algebra 1, but I am sure the two books are similar.

Thank you, Kristie. I saw that Maria Miller from Homeschool Math really likes it, but I haven't found anybody who uses Alebra 1 from the series. Kolbe also uses Algebra 2 I've noticed.
