I was thinking I wanted to teach my oldest US Governement when he is in 7th grade, but I can't find anything except for high school resources. Is government a subject that isn't taught until high school? If no, can I get some recommendations for resources. I thought I had an introduction to government in upper elementary and/or middle school.

I recall the Consitution being taught when I was in 8th grade.. matter of fact you weren't supposed to be able to pass 8th grade without passing the test on the Constitution.

The Uncle Eric books are mostly economics but they incorporate government some too and are written in a way that would be very accessible for a younger than high school student.

Is there anything in these books that would be problematic for a Catholic? I seem to remember the publisher being on a list ...somewhere.... but, I could be wrong.
