Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My niece is graduating high school this year, and I need some gift ideas. Not sure what her plans are after high school yet (maybe college, maybe work).

I'd almost rather wait until she either goes to college and I could get her something for the dorm room, or if she moves out on her own. Right now she doesn't need much, if anything, and money will just be spent on random items.

Any advice?

My standard gift for high school grads is a filing crate, files, and little items stuffed into the files (helpful pamphlets, office supplies, stamps, etc.) plus a decent quality iron. Everyone needs these things, regardless of place of abode, career/school choice and time of year.

When our dd 'graduated' we gave her an alarm clock, 'master of her time' when she headed off to Uni in the 'big smoke' (city) we gave her a referdex of the city.

Thank you, these suggestions helped stimulate my searching!

I found LifeinCase and thought I could make my own version based on current needs of a young person.

I also found Survival Kit ideas that had some really cute suggestions.
