Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I thought this article was very interesting: Charles Dickens walked over 20 miles a day

The article comes from the Sports Illustrated vault, so please ignore the girl in the swim suit.

Anyway- I thought it was intriguing that he was a walker- though obviously he did not homeschool, cook or try walking with children of various ages

That is interesting, Melinda. I think he was probably writing in his head on those walks, along with gathering information for his books. I thought it was interesting, too, that they thought 55 was old.

It also has me wondering how many miles we walk in the course of a normal day, not necessarily for exercise.

Thanks for posting this!
