Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Have any of you ever seen a "boom box" type CD player but without AM/FM capability? Our DS loves music but like so many other things we have to keep a strict rein on what he listens to I was trying to find a CD player that's not just a small hand-held one that he can play CDs on. Thanks!

I had no luck when shopping for something similar. Have you considered using an old portable cd player with some computer speakers? You might be able to pick up both at the thrift store. I also bought an mp3 player like this. It does have AM/FM, but we don't use it, and plugged it into old computer speakers. Kids use it ALL THE TIME.

We went the mp3 route as well and have been very happy. A small, inexpensive speaker can be purchased and attached to the mp3 so that it functions more like a radio (listening to music through the speaker rather than always on the earbuds). We set up playlists for the children - including Wee Sings for the little ones, liturgical music, classical music and a fair amount of some of their favorite (more popular) music. Our favorite music right now - and everyone here just loves to listen to it and sing along, is something we got for our littlest to listen to: Vintage Kids Music from the 30's, 40's, 50's!
