So let's say that you are now the proud owner of a batting cage. In your backyard.
And your men are talking about teams coming over to practice in the cage.
What would you serve as snacks and/or meals and beverages to hungry young men? What shelf stable, inexpensive, crowd-pleasing food would you keep on hand?
Sunflower seeds, pizza, bubble gum, gatorade, soda...
Help! and thanks
Love,

Am I blessed or what?! Come on over .
I'm a little scared . I think I need to empty a pantry shelf and have it stocked so boys can help themselves. Hmmmm....

popcorn, cheap and filling
and don't they make drinking fountains that attached to typical outdoor faucets?
and set out a can for donations toward snacks
ETA - those muffin cookies that Lindsay(?) posted about would be good for cheaper and healthier than typical cookies.
ETA one more - you should have some equivelent of "spitoons" for the spitting of sunflower seed shells

My Amish Friend's Caramel Corn!
Plain popcorn
Bulk peanuts - with shell catcher
Bulk sunflower seeds - with spitoon
Bulk bubble gum
drinking fountain faucet - who knew?!
For more of a meal, slow cooker hot dogs.
I feeling better already . And I'll just have the pantry stocked, but will bring specific amounts to the cage.
Love it! Thanks.
Love,

i was thinking a drinking fountain more like This outside one
But I'm not sure if that particular one just runs all the time it's on or if you can easily turn it on for each drink.

That is what I was thinking if you did meals - classic baseball meal - HOTDOGS and even brats. Watch for sales as it can be done pretty economically. What I would add to that is twice baked potatoes. It's what I make for a crowd because it can feed a lot for not that much. And we've got it down to a system so I can make them pretty quickly.
Bake 20-25 small/med. potatoes. Cut in half while still hot. Allow to cool a bit. Scoop out potato into bowl. Add an 8 oz. package of cream cheese, a couple Tbsps. butter, bit of milk (hmmm....maybe 1/4 cup), combine with mixer until cream cheese and butter are mixed through. Scoop mixture back into potato skins. Sprinkle with shredded cheese. Put back into oven to heat and melt cheese.
Another meal idea that can be done fairly easily for a big crowd and doesn't cost a lot is a taco bar - ground beef or shredded chicken or pork (whatever you can get the cheapest at that time) and plenty of rice and beans to stretch it.
