Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hello. I tried to send this a couple days ago, but I couldn't get on ... And then, I just haven't had time ... So, even though this is a little overdue, I would like to ask for prayers for my aunt, Marge.

To make a long story short ...

Marge was diagnosed with two aneurysms on her aorta—a very large one in her chest and a smaller one in her abdomen. After many, many tests, she had surgery Wednesday. It was a very risky procedure that took ALL day. (She went into surgery around 6:45 a.m., and she was finally brought up to ICU around 9 p.m.!)

The surgeon said that the aneurysm was partially ruptured, and she was glad that she did not delay even a day to do surgery!! Also, when they were checking the blood flow to her legs, they were not happy with the flow to the left leg and decided to do a little extra work to open the portion of the aorta that supplies blood to that area. That continues to be something that they are watching closely ...

Marge has a LONG recovery ahead of her! She will be in ICU, on a respirator and sedated, for 2-4 days. And then a continued hospital stay for up to 2 weeks. I suppose her recovery/strength/health will determine all of this.

But we are so grateful for the success of the surgery!

So, even though I wasn't able to get this up in time for you to pray for her surgery, please continue to keep her (and her family) in your prayers. Thank you!

May we give God all glory, honor and praise!
In Our Lord and Our Lady,
Sarah

I will be praying for your aunt and her medical team as she recovers from this difficult surgery.

Hello.

It is with great sadness that I write this update ... My aunt and godmother Marge died early this morning. I do not know very much, but apparently, she was experiencing poor blood circulation to her arms and legs, and having trouble breathing. As they were trying to figure out what was going on, her heart stopped, and they were not able to resuscitate. I think they are still trying to get more information about her sudden death, as things were really starting to improve for her, even though her recovery had been slow.

Please pray for her soul! Please pray for her four grown children and five grandchildren ... and for her entire family. (Her husband passed away in 1994 ...)

Thank you, all, for your faithfulness to prayer!

In gratitude,
Sarah
