I FINALLY decided, and simply ordered the series!
I credit Fr. Barron for my return to the Catholic Church. I found a Youtube video by him, of all places. And it spurred contemplation.
I wrote to him and he encouraged me to return, to get my marriage convalidated, get the kids involved.
It took time but I did get all of that set up. We're still waiting for the convalidation(retroactive) to go through all the proper channels, but I've done my part for that, 2 of my children are getting their sacraments at Easter Vigil.
Anyway, I've been researching and researching to learn more about Catholicism and keep coming back to Fr. Barron's site. I love the previews. I love listening to Fr. Barron, it's what is on my mp3, not music - his lectures are what I chose to listen to. So even though the price was a little higher than I wanted, I got them! I can't wait for them to get here.
I got the study guide too. The book is waiting for me at the library, so I'll pick it up tonight so I have some reading. I have heard so many wonderful things about it. A friend said she learned so much more from 3 episodes than in her classes she's taken. She credits it to the fact that he's easy to listen to, so she retained more.
I've been learning so much as I teach the kids, as we are the kids CIC class at the church, but I want to go deeper.
I'm as excited for this as I am for new school curricula!

I can't wait to watch his series, too! My mom has the set and it's coming here after she's done!
Your story sounds so wonderful, and it's absolutely beautiful how the Holy Spirit uses others like Fr. Barron to plant seeds and encourage his sheep back into the fold!

Thank you! I think who ever encouraged Fr. Barron(I can't remember the name of his superior) knew what a precious gem there was in Fr. Barron. He can reach. He doesn't back down because of negative comments on his videos. He answers emails too, I didn't expect he would answer me. But he did! I am so thankful.
The irony of it all, is in my search for what I wanted from or in a church, I visited many churches, except that of my roots, not finding anything i wanted(needed?) and there it was exactly what I'd fled years before. A priest in our parish tells me every so often, "All in God's time, all in God's time." Suggesting I wasn't ready until now.

We are SO EXCITED about Fr Barron's series! I have it at present, lent to me by a friend who received the series as a Christmas gift from her sister living in the States. I've been so busy night and day for the past fortnight, that I haven't gotten further than the first part, but what I've seen is quite incredible, a real achievement for Fr Barron and I imagine this will do so much good for the Faith.
I look forward to watching the series in the weeks to come. Fr Barron is coming out to Australia in March for a nation-wide tour, so we will see him when he comes to our city.

I watched it with my oldest (14) in one of the parishes around here and I really, really liked it. You can watch it several times and still learn something new.

I have seen the first part and of course Fr. Barron is wonderful. one thing that struck me when watching it is that it would appeal to boys. My teens already like him from youtube, I hope they get a chance to see the series. Eva is right, there is much depth without being overwhelming.

I was blessed to receive the dvds for Christmas. I've only gotten to watch the first two episodes, but they are wonderful!
