It's fairly new, just started in Jan. It plays on the Discovery channel here. We have really been enjoying it,

It's about the Kilcher family whose father Yule came to Alaska (from Switzerland) during WW2 because he was afraid Hitler would take over the world. They had eight children and the two boys still live there and live off the land as well as some of their sons and their families. It is fascinating! These people seriously live off the grid --they don't even have indoor plumbing!

Oh and apparently the singer Jewel is the daughter of one of the sons (Atz).
