Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have been meaning to put together a list of picture books to use with our Jesse Tree for years and this year I finally did.

I was able to get most of these books through our library system and for many of the stories there was more than one good book available. If you don't already have ornaments or a list of the symbols for each story you can find ideas here or here or just make up your own. Ornaments can be drawn on cardstock, cut out of felt, made from Sculpey, etc.

Happy Epiphany!

December 1 The Real Story of Creation

2 Noah's Ark

3 The Tower of Babel

4 Abraham's Search for God***

5 Sarah Laughs***

6 The White Ram

7 Jacob and Esau

8 Joseph

9 The Moses Basket

10 Exodus

11 Gideon: Soldier of God

12 The Story of Ruth

13 David and Goliath

14 David's Songs

15 King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba

***These two were an especially lovely surprise - treasures that I had never seen or heard of before. Definitely worth tracking down!

Bumping up to say Ellie has enthused me to give this a go this year with her Jesse Tree Picture post which was inspired by Sara's above list. This sounds so doable to me
