Update 1/31/12

Please continue prayers for my MIL. She has only one living sibling, and years ago they promised each other they would not fight when it came to settling the estate of their mother when she passed on.

Well, that promise has been broken (not by my MIL) and it is getting REALLY UGLY. Theft, lying, guilt trips, threatening law suits...it breaks my heart to see this rift between family! My MIL is in danger of physical illness from the stress.   

Please join me in praying for healing of this relationship.

DH's grandmother passed away on Friday (Dec. 31). She had not been in good health for several years battling cancer and then repeated strokes and seizures that left her increasingly bereft of physical and mental capabilities. While her death is certainly a release, we will miss her.

She was a very faithful Catholic and received Communion the morning of her death, and it was a peaceful passing--facts from which we derive great comfort.

Please especially keep in prayer dh's mother who had structured life around caring for her mother as long as she could, then devoting much of each day to spending with her when she had to be placed in a care facility the last 2 years. I know she is feels the loss keenly.

Thank you all! The funeral Mass was very nice, and it was great to see extended family we had not seen in some time. My MIL appears to be handling it all very well. Thank you again for the prayers!
