Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We have never owned a laptop. We are looking at purchasing one to use for Mil's recovery from stroke, for speech therapy software to assist her with post-stroke aphasia. She has always declared that she wasn't interested in computers, so we're thinking a laptop might be less intimidating. She has to have the television rather loud, so good speakers would be an issue. I think a larger screen would be helpful and have been looking at 17 in . screens. Dh thinks she would do better with a regular mouse, so a USB port and mouse compatible version would be desirable. If anyone has tips, brand suggestions and/or experience with aphasia software I'd be most grateful for any input! Today is one of the few days I have to look things up online and dd & her family are set to arrive in a couple hours for a Christmas! Nothing like last minute, huh!?!

I love my Toshiba laptop, but the one fault it has is the speakers are not loud enough. So, that may make it unsuitable for her needs unless she will be using headphones/earbuds. Just fyi.

USb headphones may take care of the speaker problem. I have been happy with my aspire and our dells as well.
