I am not sure if this is the right place to post, so feel free to move it! I am stumped this year for stocking stuffers for my 19 yr old college ds and my 14 yr old dd. I have iTunes gift card, gloves, hat, and drawing pencils (both now draw). I also have candy. But my mom made their stockings and the stockings are large! Oh, I also have chap stick. I guess I would like something more, well, fun? But I think I am now stumped.
Any ideas?!

Off the top of my head...
My parents used to get us travel sized games. Sometimes they would roll up magazines or crossword puzzle books.
With my own kids, 8 and younger, when I need something that takes up space I add an extra orange. 
I'll keep thinking and see if i come up with anything else.

Little flash lights that clip on things -- I just picked a few up from my local knitting store.
Little fun accessories for the techno gadgets -- but I'm not thinking of any right now.

Oh, a flash drive is all the rage. This year I got a free one shaped as R2D2 with purchase. Not really my style, but I did need a flash drive!
How old fashioned is this going to sound? Film, batteries...
We always got toiletries. My father one year put nail clippers in all the stockings.

I know he's a boy, but I give my dh Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream, Fragrance-Free (has to be fragrance free -- I can't stand the smell of the regular stuff.
That is magic, and we all have dry hands, and it doesn't leave them greasy. A try "guy's" kind of hand cream.
It's available everywhere, just linking for a visual.

My mom has also made extra-large stockings for her grandchildren (I've a picture of one of my babies *in* her stocking) and so we've continued a tradition from my dh's family.....books from Santa!
It's also the part of Christmas shopping I most enjoy, picking out books for the oldest (James Herriot this year) to the youngest (a Priddy cloth book).

real socks take up a good amount of space.. and they can be fun or utility.. this year my kids are getting some of either.. my 13 yr old is getting some wool socks for his winter camping trip, the girls are getting fuzzy toe socks in wild colors, the littlest boys are getting the christmas socks (they say girls but a christmas tree is hardly strictly feminine  ) I don't think I got socks for the middle boys.. hmmm...
oh and stretchy gloves for everyone.. not good for much but it's nice when it's real cold to have a lightweight pair for wearing shopping or to church or such.

Reading through this thread I remembered that I forgot to pick this up for dh last night when I was out getting stocking stuffers. I always get him a couple of these and some Carmex

Bath and Body Works has scented hand sanitizer in really fun scents- they smell so good and are purse sized. They come in handy this time of year.

A few things my older kids will be getting/ have gotten in the past:
Ear buds--my kids go through these fairly quickly, so they can always use a new set. Good for girls or boys.
Hair accessories--nice barrettes, clips, etc.
Guitar picks and strings--if they are into guitar.
Fingerless gloves--seem to be all the rage this year. For guys or girls.
Fair trade chocolate. My kids like the extra-dark kind.
Fruit--I always put one piece of fruit in the stocking. not just any fruit, but I pick out each of their fav's. One kid gets a kiwi, one gets a pomegranite, one gets an Asian apple-pear, one gets a mango, one gets a mandarin.
Small camping items such as carabiners(sp?),flashlights, a monocular, sporks. Airsoft pellets.
Usually a DVD for each, or a CD, though not so much any more due to digital streaming, iPods, etc.
Small books (paperback novels, graphic novels or blank books usually fit well).

Inexpensive earrings, chocolate Santas, candy canes in fruit flavors for dd, Dutch waffle cookies from Trader Joe's, hand warmers and (masculine) car air fresheners for ds.
