Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I don't know the family well, but this breaks my heart.

Little Aidan has passed Monday evening sleeping between mommy and daddy. Aidan has been undergoing treatment for a brain tumor. He was away for several months this fall, and returned a month ago. He seemed to be doing well, but slipped silently away.

Please pray that this family can find comfort and peace, Aidan was not yet 2 years old. He was always full of smiles and giggles even though he wasn't well.

Oh that is so sad. Will pray for his family as well as the family of the other 2 year old that passed. Sooo painfully sad.

Thank you everyone! As I said, I don't really know the family beyond that the older sister plays on my dd12 team. But it just touched me deeply and though a little outreach with prayer may help them through this.

I would hope some one would do the same for me if we had a tough situation arise, so I'm doing it for them.

I'll be at the funeral this Saturday.

A little update, Aidan's older sister was at her game last night along with dad. Theyappear to be 'ok'. The whole team is attending the funeral and the family asked that all the girls wear their jerseys in a show of support. Most of the Macs friends are from the league and they all know Aidan.

I have been praying for this family and that our Blessed Mother will cover them with grace. I cannot imagine the heartache!

I went to the memorial on Saturday, it was a nice tribute to a special little boy. the siblings seem to be ok, dad is doing ok, but mom, Stephanie, needs our prayers, she's broken right now. Very very fragile. My heart is breaking for her.

I don't know if it's typical of a memorial, but there was no mention of God, or Heaven.... and I find that they are really missing something important here.

I don't know their faith convictions, perhaps the funeral itself was more faith oriented and the memorial for friends and they were being 'pc'. But it was missing.... Grandpa did mention it kinda, in his little part of the memorial. that if we believe that there is something after our time here, that we sing Aidan's favorite song so that he can hear it from us, one last time. The comment was "don't sing like at church, but let it out and sing it loud." The whole room sang and did the actions to itsy bitsy spider. It was very touching.

I am praying that they do turn to God, in whatever way they need to, be it privately or church and find comfort there.

Either way, they made a very special tribute to a very special little boy.

We all grieve so differently. On the one hand, I can't imagine going through something like that without my faith and yet, I'm not sure how strong I would be to stand on my faith in the face of such despair. It's possible they are so broken just from the time he was diagnosed that they've separated from God for now. Hopefully they find their way. I will pray for them.

Kathryn I agree completely. Everyone is different in how they grieve. I am sad for them that they are separated from God right now.

When I lost my son, I had been away from the church, but it was there I went in that time of need, it was what I needed... I can imagine what would have happened if I hadn't the support I found there at that time.

I have added them to my prayers every morning and night. The heartbreak right now is hard, I know it is, and they need all the support they can get. They are good people that are struggling right now.
