We have been living in our home for 3 years now and my husband and I look at our backyard and think, "We could do some cool stuff back here....if we were creative!" My husband just finished getting the yard "safe" (put up a reataining wall, fenced in part of the yard). He also just put in our raised bed garden. We have woods in the back and would love some ideas of what to put back there for creative fun. The kids love just playing back there, but we feel there is something else we could do. Anyone have some creative backyards??? I know someone has to!

Jennifer
I'm always searching for cool playground ideas, if only we had more time I've recently started gathering ideas. Not sure how creative you want, but so far we have; soccer goals, sandpit, trampoline, huge swing set as well as a more traditional one with a slide, tennis pole and a soccer wall. I've been researching trying to find more ideas for Christmas, would love to hear what you come up with.

I think a treehouse/fort/climbing structure would be fun...
not a swingset.. mainly because with the little guys they WOULD get in the way of the swings.
But I think an elevated platform with crossing bars and a fireman pole and climbing net, ladder, maybe a slide.. and with a roof and partial walls so that it can be used even when the sun is too hot otherwise.
Oh the possibilities and just being an elevated platform it's likely to get a lot of use because it's so fun to be UP.

Erin...I like the wall idea. Your pictures are great! I'm not sure I would have the room for that, but I'm passing it onto dh.
We have a swingset with a slide and fort, that dh built when we first moved in. I'm looking more for ideas in the woods. The platform idea is great, Jodie. I can see that being fun and simple.
Thank you for the ideas! Keep them coming!
