Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm intrigued by what I've read on Dianne Craft's site and am considering trying the EFA Blend for Children (formerly Attention Focus). was wondering if anyone here has tried it? or any of her other supplemental suggestions?

hmm. wonder if I'm posting this in the right place ...

I haven't been able to get any of the supplements beside a cheap fish oil and B complex I got at Walmart. However a good friend has been trying them, and said they have helped a lot with her kids. Maybe post in Tea and Conversation or Our Lady of Good Remedy? Oh yes, and if you look at her sample video on the Biology of Behavior, and the symptoms seem to be experienced with any of your kids, this friend really recommended something to get rid of the yeast overgrowth, and some of the changes in diet, as much as one can. She has seen big changes in her daughter who did all this the best.

thank you, Pilgrim! I think I will give it a try. the only bit of IRL advice I got was someone who said quality really matters in supplements, so splurge for the higher price if it means better. that made sense to me, so I found reasonable prices at Vitamin Shoppe through Amazon for the EFA Blend and am researching the probiotics options available at Costco.

I have been stumped by DD's behavior for some time; she's extremely energetic to the point of hyper (although we try to avoid that word and that's the least of my worries) and she has some food issues. what has confounded me the most are short-term memory gaps that range on the severe and what I can only describe as "mental glitches." I kept chalking it up to "she's young" and "she's different from her big brother" but right about the time I really started worrying (and after some especially fervent prayers), the Dianne Craft site jumped out at me on an unrelated post somewhere on here. so many of the traits described her, it was like the "ah-ha!" moment when I realized DS is dyslexic. (she very well may be too. where's the emoticon for a resigned, trying not to be discouraged but wow, that's a lot of work ahead smiley?) that's why I posted in Special Blessings; glad it got moved here.

anyway, a yeast overgrowth is a whole lot less scary than neurological misfiring so I'll give it a try!

one last thought: the friend who said quality matters in supplements is a vegan who pointed out that DD is basically a vegetarian living in a carnivore family (I wasn't offended because she's right) and that there are things she automatically supplements for her kids that don't even occur to me. guess I've been so worried about curriculum I didn't realize it extended to the pantry as well.

I use cod liver oil, probiotics and grapefruit seed extract with my kids per Dianne's suggestion and I have found great improvement in behavior. I should say, I really see the difference when I slack!

Yeast is a huge problem and can be really difficult to get rid of if it is intercellular but it is essential to do so. It not only causes behavioral problems but bigger health problems as well.

Hope you find a solution soon.

I'm not familiar with Dianne Craft but I can find some of the better quality supplements for a really good price at vitacost.com

You may want to look into the GAPs diet. It has helped a LOT of kids I know to focus and be calm. My friend was telling me that the 'witching hour' (between 4-5 ish) has become so very calm in her home with the kids choosing to do activities that involve more concentration. That was a big change for them. GAPS and
Gaps
And I too notice my kids do better all around with cod liver oil. The best price I found was at Vitacost .

I have a friend that has recnetly been following the Dianne Craft nutritional and therapy recommendation and is very pleased with the results for her son. Dianne is local and I know has helped many in our area.
