Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My "baby" ds turned 6 yesterday. Due to being a little hormonal right now, I cried off and on all day. Both my dc are growing right before my eyes. Dh really embraces the growth b/c he feels like he connects with them easier than when they were babies. I am mourning babyhood. My dh isn't really open to more dc. He loves ours dearly, but feels overwhelmed at the thought of any more. I struggle greatly with this. I guess I should've posted on the prayer forum b/c I need prayers to accept my dh's feelings without anger or self righteousness.

I'm sorry that you are feeling so sad. I know of many mothers who long to have a baby in their arms. I will pray for you and your dh, Courtney.

Love,

Well, happy birthday, Christopher! It's hard to believe he's 6--he was just a tot when I saw him last!
I know it can be difficult to come to peace with these issues--be assured of prayers for you here in CT!

My '00 baby just turned 6; unbelievable!! I'm going to pray for you and your dh. I hope you'll pray to St. Joseph for a miracle. I can personally testify to more miracles than I can keep track of for my dh thanks to St. Joseph.

Coutrney, I am with you. My "baby" turned 10 and my last few pregnancies have all ended in miscarriage so I weep a little at the thought that babies are behind me.

It also helps me to be thankful for the dc I have - I meet many people who cannot have one or more than one child...

I will say a prayer for you.

Hi Courtney,
I'm not sure if this post is helpful to your situation or not. The end of the article does speak about what to do with the emptiness a woman experiences who can't have children.
Only trying to be helpful.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I did stop and think today how truly grateful and blessed I am with my children and my dh. Sometimes it's so easy for me to focus on what I don't have instead of appreciating what I do have. I read the article, Helen, and it really helped! I do think of this issue as my cross that I bear. Things don't always look how I think they "should" but I know it's those times that I can grow closer to God. Thank you all for you support.

Courtney, I've been in just the same place as you and know how hard it is. Yes, it is a cross that can bring you closer to God if you can accept it without resentment and put the whole issue into His hands. And miracles do happen. Here I am, 45 years old and seven months pregnant . I'll pray for you and your dh.
