Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Oooh, I'm so frustrated with Pinterest right now! I created an account but it created all these "follows" that I don't want and I couldn't "unfollow" them. I tried clicking and changing them, but they still showed up on my following screen. Grrrr !

So, I deleted my account and will try again!

Lara, I had the same problems!

Two thoughts that might help you...

You can unfollow people by clicking on each one's grey "Following" button. It will turn red and say something else (I forget what...but it's not "unfollowed" or anything logica.).

You have to do this one person at a time; sadly, you can't bulk unfollow people.

Also, Pinterest takes a while to update, so be patient as you unfollow people and start pinning things.

Let's hope your second experience is better!

Glad Nancy talked about the (very un-intuitive ) way to unfollow on Pinterest!!! By the way, no one gets notified of that when you UN-follow!!

This is a new thing with Pinterest for folks signing up for accounts and I wish they wouldn't do it, but you have to click a category to follow when signing up, and then all of a sudden you have random followers.    IT IS TOTALLY WORKABLE THOUGH! Just go through those steps Nancy spoke of and you can unfollow, BUT....you'll need to follow someone's boards that you actually do like first in order to unfollow all the crazy add-on's. Might I suggest 4Real's own Pinterest boards??!!

Happy pinning!

I feel your pain! I am also learning. I think you just get signed up to follow random people until you start filling up those spaces with your own choices.

Next week this time we'll be experts

Hey, can we have a list of people who are on Pinterest? When I signed up, it immediately gave me a list of people from my Facebook account, but after that it seems you have to work to find people.

(Of course, I'm not sure how many people I can follow before I am overwhelmed, but right now I love Pinterest! It is an ADD person's dream! )

My Pinterest link!

No kidding, I love it too but the more great people I follow the more the volume increases...

We should just start posting here if you have an account.

One thing you can do to cut down on the volume is to subscribe only to specific boards from some folks. For example, I may want to follow someone's DIY and cooking boards, but not their travel or fashion boards.
To do this, go to the person's page, and just simply click on the follow links beneath each board you want to follow, rather than clicking on "Follow All" beneath the person's picture.
Hope that helps!

Well, I can't log in to my account now and when I try to reset it tells me that my email address is not valid. This is so frustrating. I love the idea, but they need to work out some kinks.

I'm really enjoying the pictures though!

Here is mine! I was signed up to follow a bunch of people when I first signed up as well, but I just deleted all of them and started from scratch. Hope you get it worked out!

You know, I'm tempted to switch the bulk of my bookmarking over there because I do love the layout (LOVE the visual organization!), but I always worry that the "life" of this kind of novelty website is potentially shorter than, say, Google Bookmarks, which is where I keep everything right now. How do you guys handle bookmarks that you really do want to keep long-term? Anyone have the same concern I do? I'm tempted to bookmark my very favorite links twice (once on Pinterest, once of Google Bookmarks), but I don't have time for that.

I've considered that, Celeste, and I think that I MUCH prefer Pinterest and it is much easier for me to use and navigate long-term. While it does seem "fadish", in some ways, I don't think it will go anywhere any time soon, and should that happen, I could probably find the time years from now to transfer my bookmarks.

It IS a possibility it will go away down the road when something else comes along, but then, even "outdated" places like "My Space" still exist, they just aren't as popular. So I figure I have some time.

And, much to my dismay, Google Reader is changing so you can't follow people anymore!!! They are changing all their applications to integrate them with Google Plus. I find this very disappointing, but it goes to show that even your Google bookmarking might not be "safe."

I agree with you, Lindsay--there is the chance that Google Bookmarks will eventually be discontinued as well. I think it's likely, actually, given that even the newest version of Google Toolbar doesn't seem to support it; that's actually what got me thinking about the life of Pinterest in the first place. With most bookmarking sites there is a way to export your bookmarks so that you won't lose them should the site be shut down--I don't think Pinterest has anything like that yet, but I hope they add that function in the future. If they do, I won't hesitate to move my stuff over there because I really like that kind of layout. Oh, and the ability to drag and drop onto different boards--that would be great too.

I really think this must be a new 'feature' because I signed up for pinterest a few months back and have never had this issue, that's what I decided when everyone began mentioning it anyhow.

Before I found pinterest I discovered Evernote So being a visual girl I laid out my bookmark on evernote pages. ie. History page with names for my history links etc. Trying to decide whether to keep doing that or place new ones in pinterest. Thinking I will keep my bookmarks at Evernote and visual delights at Pinterest.
