Please pray for the following dancers...they all dance with my dd at our Irish step dance studio, and they are injured:
Jessie - sprained ankle
Shauna - injured foot
Rachel - pain while dancing
Meg - rolled/sprained ankle (extra prayers needed, as she is a dance mom, too, and her dh is out of town on business travel!)
Dancing Daughter - my dd injured her knee Friday
Regional championships are just six weeks away. We appreciate your prayers.
St. Vitus is the patron saint of dancers...I know him as San Vito, from my years of living in Italy. Please ask him to intercede for all the dancers you know!

Angi, some yes, some no. With the Oireachtas (regional championships) only 6 weeks away, all problems are scary.
Your post betrays a knowledge of Irish dance...do tell!

Lol, my 4 daughters are just starting with an ID school, the youngest 3 had a semester of classes at a part district. They really want to compete, but wigs times 4, entrance fees times 4, etc is scary! Luckily, my mom bought their ghillies, and none are in hard shoe yet lol. They will prob compete their first feis in the spring, we are in MidAmerica region.
The school is Claddagh School of Irish Dance, but they would compete under McNulty.
I know that O's were coming upl but could not spell it, so I did not ask specifically about it.

My daughter has been diagnosed with iliotibial band syndrome. This is a good thing, as problems go...her knee is actually okay and she can dance.
Angi, I know ID is expensive. Our beginner through prizewinner dancers don't have to wear wigs...maybe your school would consider that option? (I know some schools have a "look" they want dancers to have...)
Also, there's a very active market out there for used hard shoes! (I didn't start buying new ones until dd made prelim.)
Claddagh is a good dance school, from what I've heard. I hope your daughters continue to enjoy this fun-but-loud performance art!
