Let the Whole Earth Sing Praise
New picture book by Tomie dePaola with text inspired by Old Testament Psalm 148 and the Benedicite from the Book of Daniel. Lovely, simple illustrations in style of "beautiful embroideries and designs of the Otomi people from the mountain villages around San Pablito, in Puebla, Mexico" add to the book.

I love dePaola books! And I love the colors on the cover of the Psalm book.
My boys will be happy to read a new Strega Nona.

And now I see he wrote Strega Nona's Harvest! We've not seen it, but my library has it. Guess I use the online reservation system too much and need to browse the shelves more.

Yep, that's us, too! I reserved all 3 when I saw this thread. I'm behind on my dePaola books!

We checked this one out, and while I love how he combined the Canticle of the Three Children and Psalm 148, the illustrations didn't really draw me in. They were really, really sparse. I understand they were imitating a type of art, but for the boys, it was kind of lost on them. And me.
