Isn't it funny how sometimes you hear of something for the first time and then you hear of it again within days.
First I read a passing mention of Heritage Historyon a blog post (Willa's) so my interest picked up. Then Tracey (an Aussie blogger) wrote a review. Now I'm really intrigued.
History guides to help you navigate (so you are not overwhelmed), very cheap books (or the even cheaper CD option) you can print and have in 2 ereader format (not either/or but all three)
The quality and range of the books looks so enticing, all those lovely OOP books at my fingertips, I'm drooling. Anyone used them?

Bumping - I'm new at looking into this resource, too. I know I've heard Theresa talk about it before. Anyone else?
Do you use Heritage Books? How? What do you think of it? Anyone?

I thought I posted in this thread a few weeks ago when it first came up. <I have a problem of starting posts, then leaving and then not finishing so the windows eventually get closed by me accidently or someone else in the family does - another confession, I fear. >
Anyway, like you Erin, I've heard it mentioned (on this forum even) quite a few times but never did more than give a cursory look at the website. It's funny how it can take a mention by a particular person and a particular time to make me stand up and take notice. This summer we visited Meredith on a trip to see our son and she is using them and loves it. Spent some time looking at the disks and Meredith showing us what she is doing. It does look great and I'm going to start using them after the New Year for some Middle Ages.

It's a GREAT site.
I have never downloaded anything from them, but I use their online texts in order to compare several different versions before I buy a hard copy or ebook. For example, I used it to decide which version of Plutarch would be the right reading level for my ds by reading a section from all of the different translations they had.
It's also great for finding a quick story about a particular person, say William Wallace or Sir Francis Drake, etc. that might come up in your child's other reading. Then you or your child can just read it online as a fun supplement.

So true.
I was discussing Tracey's post (linked above) at our local hs group last week, one of the mum's stated that you could find all the books and download without buying the discs. Just alot more work. I haven't got back over to have a look, does anyone know if this is so?
btw for any o/s readers, I emailed the company and it was only $5 postage to Aust!

Yes, Erin, many,( but not all) of the books are free from various sources, (gutenburg project, Google books, Amazon). I have a lot of them I got for free on my Kindle. The down side is that sometimes the formatting is not as nice and there is no clickable TOC. But, for free, I can deal with that.
