Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Church secretary left a message on our vm saying that Father wants to speak with me tomorrow.

I am nervous as get out because we just had him over for dinner on FrIday evening asking if our dd could receive communion early...and Oh, by the way Father, we like doing our Catechesis at home. Sadlier anyone? It was all very cordial and easy tO talk about then, but I have a feeling he went over the Diocesan regulations and is going to say we need to go to CCD. Honestly, I think I will cry. That and I never have my wits about me with children in tow...(sigh). I am a completely nervous wreck. Please pray for me and Fr.?

Maggie,
I hope all went well with the pastor. There is a priest, but I don't recall his name yet, who said that if a child is ready, let them do it. Only a child really knows when they are ready to take the next step of commitment.
My son is 6 and the lady who was doing the registration said that he had to be 7 by the time he made his first confession. I reminded her that there was a girl who had just turned 6 that made her first communion in May. The lady said she would talk to the pastor. I haven't heard anything from them and I won't. Sheesh! I am still trying to remember this priests name! He is supposedly a well known guy. UGH! When I remember, I will let you know!
