Just saw that a new book about Canada is going to be released at Knowledge Quest. (I receive their e-mail offers)

I am super interested in this... I am not Canadian but my kids are! I have a lot to learn. ;)
Any other suggestions for Canadian history/natural history/other Canadian subjects?

This is very cool! We have vacationed in Canada for the last 4 years and love this beautiful, friendly country. I am happy to see a history resource become available, as our library tends to ignore Canada. (Don't know why...we import more oil from Canada than from any other country...!!!)

Jumping in really quickly here to add a few resources that I used during our year of Canadian History:
Curricula:
Robert Livesy books:
Coming to Canada, 1994, Little Brick Schoolhouse Inc.
The Defenders, 1994, Stoddart Publishing Co. Ltd.
The Railways, 1997, Stoddart Kids
Loyal Refugees, 1999, Stoddart Kids
The Rebels, 2000, Stoddart Kids
The Story of Canada(Textbook-y, but a good summary of Canada's history)
Barbara Greenwood's books. A pioneer story is just one of them. She also has The Last Safe house about Canada's underground railroad and Gold Rush fever
Kids Book of Canadian History
Donna Ward: Courage and Conquest
Canada's saints!
Vision books: St. Isaac and the Indians, Kateri Tekakwitha
Windeatt series
Marie of New France
Historical fiction:
Madeleine Takes Command
Matchlock Gun
With pipe paddle and song
Anne of Green Gables
the root cellar
Dear Canada series
Our Canadian Girl series
Multimedia:
Invaluable resource: DVD documentary series made by CBC called, "Canada: A People's History" Check YOUTUBE for smaller portions of it.
By no means an exhaustive list but HTH!

Mary! This is fantastic!
The best part is that - unlike the American history books I so long to read to my kids- our library has almost all of these!
Thank you so much.
