Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We are just finishing up Johnny Tremain on cd. I had forgotten how gripping it is.

I think it is one of the most "living" books we've read in awhile. Sam Adams and John Hancock really spring to life. Oh, and Paul Revere riding off just after his wife has a baby... but she struggles to the window to give him a letter that will be his cover.... all the details bring the scene to life so vividly.

My kids read Johnny Tremain at around 5th or 6th grade. This year, because my ds struggles a bit with reading, I got it on CD. It's an old favorite of my other kids so they all say they want to listen in. I haven't started it yet, so I'm hoping this CD is well done. Otherwise, I will read it out loud to everyone. I agree that it is a great "living book"!

My daughter enjoyed this last year. It was one of her favorites.

We loved it too.

At the end of the book, I got the Disney movie from the library - and it was very disappointing in comparison. However, it was great to hear the kids compare and contrast the two so even that was a learning experience.
