Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Please pray for Kaleigh. We've moved away from everything we know to a new place and where we thought the Catholic Church to be a safe environment has now become a place of panic and pain for her.

The week we arrived, they were offering Altar Server training , even though my son has served for two years, I signed him up and we attended three Monday night classes. We began to know the families and even the Deacon doing the training had his grandson there to help ( a senior server in the church) By the third Monday night class, we were standing outside the empty church with the deacon and other mothers discussing the   installation Mass for the new servers, where to be etc. The grandson ( senior server asked me if he could show Kaleigh a shortcut in the church. I had no reason to question, he had been very polite all the three weeks and attended Mass before each Class with us. I Also thought my son and another boy were with them in the church.
As we left the church that night, she begged me to move back to Texas, A week later she broke down crying and told me the grandson ( also 14 years old) locked the door behind the altar and started touching her all over with his hands and body up to hers and kissing her asking if her boyfriend( which she doesn't have) spoke sexually to her! She said she froze and panicked.   She said she prayed to St Maria Goretti for help. The Deacon called his name to come on so they could lock up the church, so it was stopped, praise God. But now, She has this image in her mind and can't let go. She is crushed that this happened in the new church we found down the road from our new house. I reported this to the head priest and as far as I know the boy has been suspended form the altar. I Am sick that this happened to her and in a place of comfort, now she is in so much pain over it. Please pray for her to be able to move on and find some endearing Catholic friends. Its is so hard to move to a new place, dad deployed, and now this.
We are now traveling 30 minutes north of our house to go to Mass on post. Its a drive, but worth it for peace of mind for her. Thank you in advance for your prayers for her peace.

That's it?! he gets suspended? I have an extra frying pan! Heres praying he gets enough sense knocked into him that he won't do worse next time.

Abundant prayers for dear Kaleigh. What a quick thinker to call on Maria Goretti. I'd be thinking of adding martial arts to her curriculum this year.

God bless!

Oh no, that is terrible! Your poor Kaleigh . Praise God that she had the courage to tell you what had happened, and that you are responding in such a loving and sensitive way to her. I will be praying mightily for her ability to process what happened, and have forgiveness and peace in her heart to be able to move forward with happiness.

Oh Emily, I am so sorry this happened to your dear daughter. It's so good that you are going to Mass elsewhere. Your precious Kaleigh does not need to associate such an event with the grace she and your family need from Mass and parish life. What a blessing that your dd thought of praying to St. Maria Goretti! May she continue to intercede for Kaleigh!
Kaleigh and your entire family are in our continued prayers.

Oh, no. I'm so very sorry this has happened.

Please consider contacting your family services center (I know the Army calls it something else) on post to find a caring, gentle counselor for your dd.

You've done all the right things - believing and loving her, helping her avoid seeing this person again, reporting him...your dh must be worried sick, from so far away.

I am praying for you and most especially for your dear daughter.

I am so, so sorry, Emily! Something similar happened to me in an Adoration chapel when I was pregnant with our youngest. It was so hard for me to go back there. We ended up switching parishes and it was very painful for so many years -- that feeling of being helpless in that situation and in a place that should be "safe." I am so grateful that Kaleigh spoke to you and that you are helping her. I am praying to Maria Goretti for her and for you all! Her intercession has been a huge blessing to me this year. May her intercession and God's graces bring you all peace, discernment, healing, and many graces from this situation and from your move.

Oh Emily, I am so very sorry for that experience for dear Kaleigh.

I will be praying to St. Maria Goretti for her.

Also as someone who has gone through something similar, I thank God she had the love and relationship with you to tell you about it and start healing from the horrible experience.

Please be assured of our prayers.

Oh, Emily, I am so very sorry!

I will be praying for you and Kaleigh.

Be gentle to yourself, too, there is no way you could have known what would happen. How horrible.

I'm so glad she came to you.
