We are celebrating the feast day of Australia's first saint today - Saint Mary MacKillop! (August, 8th 2011)

Congratulations to Australia! Isn't this a wonderful feast day?!!!!

Our beloved Church is truly universal, with saints to inspire us no matter who we are or where we come from. Catholics around the world can celebrate on this very special day (well, some of us aren't quite there yet...but give me 20 minutes or so!). Holy Mother Church rejoices with every new saint's canonization...I love looking at photos from Rome on canonization days, because they are tiny foretastes of Heaven.

Oh just a little add in.. the lapbook is supplied by a friend of mine- Michelle..we live close to each other.
Her friend organised the lapbook and asked my friend- michelle- to sell it on her website. ( I just couldn't help myself but tell you all -she very excitedly told me she added it as a product on her website).
Praise God for that.

Its a very exciting day her today as we celebrate St Mary of the Cross.
