We're approaching the beginning of our school year and I haven't yet planned anything in terms of grammar for my almost 10YO. He is an excellent reader, for what it's worth.

I've seen a few suggestions by those who follow a CM philosopy.

Simply Grammar: An Illustrated Primer
Intermediate Language Lessons

Have any of you used these? Personal recommendations?

Edited to add: I do have Grammar-Land on my Kindle, but I really don't want to plan ANOTHER read-aloud...at least yet. I was thinking we could do that maybe next year.

Hi Monica, we used IIL with my fifth grader this past year. We started with part three and she did just find. We're moving on to Lingua Mater and spreading over two years.

I think you could easily spread IIL out over two years, even three if you needed too. Maybe use the SG every other day with it, I think that one is much more gentler and possibly could just be done orally, especially if your starting from the beginning.
