Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm trying to locate a Catholic resource focusing on Devotion to Our Lady or "Mary our Mother" for adults who suffered an abusive or absent mother as a child. For someone who wants to heal from an abusive mother through devotion to the Blessed Virgin. I haven't had much luck googling for this, and wondered if anyone might know of websites or support groups which specifically come from this perspective? Thanks so much in advance!

Hi Laurie
I wish I could say that I knew of an active resource for you.

The Franciscans of the Immaculate MaryMediatrix.com are my go to resource for all things Marian.

There is a blog carnival of Motherhood at my dusty old blog:
Loveliness of Motherhood
In our day and age, many do not have a concrete example of mothering. I had hoped that this carnival would gather inspiring stories which eventually would foster devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The blog post lists the links under the virtues of the Blessed Virgin as described by St. Louis de Montfort. Because of the age of the post, the links may no longer work.
