Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

This week at the Dollar Tree, the special is hardback books, new, for $1.

I had some time to kill. so I took a look, not expecting much. I was amazed to find this book: Shrines: Images of Italian Worship

Basically, it is a collection of photographs of different shrines around Italy.
The pictures of Our Lady, St. Anthony, the Holy Family, etc were so beautiful that I almost started crying in the aisle of the Dollar Tree. Sheesh! It was truly finding hidden treasure. I bought two copies, thinking that I might have to tear pages out of one and frame them or at least display them throughout the year.

I also found this little gem: A Saint For All Reasons by Tim Muldoon.

It has beautiful line drawings of the saints in purple, black and white, plus a link to a website that allows you to print out pictures.   But what I think is neat about this book is that along with a short biography and a prayer, there is a ritual or activity listed for each one. For example, St. John the Baptist is listed as the patron saint of highways. The suggested activity is to use your time on the highway to meditate on your readiness to prepare a place for God in your life.

Definitely worth checking your Dollar Tree this week if you have a chance!

Awesome! Thanks, Melinda.
I haven't been to our Dollar Tree in months. Need to go take a peek.
