Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm sorry I don't post much anymore, but please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers often.

If you could, please pray for my 3yo son. He has been limping for 2 weeks - first one knee was swollen (x-ray did show some fluid) and now today and yesterday he is complaining that his other knee hurts and he wakes up crying every morning.

Preliminary blood tests looked good but the doc is worried about juvenile arthritis. We see a specialist in a few weeks, or sooner if my friend's husband (a doctor) can go to bat for us.

I'm not panicky-worried, but this is a huge straw on my camel's back full up of little straws...thank you so much for your prayers dear ladies (and gents!)

***************

UPDATE:

We're back from the rheumatologist - GREAT doc. I am so thankful our friend was able to get us in, and fast. He has 3 girls and then a baby boy to match our 4 girls and then a boy. Anyway, the official diagnosis is Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis... like I suspected.

The doc said things have come a long way med-wise with this disease, and at least for now my son is presenting with the mildest form --only 3 joints and no other systemic involvement. While all that could change over the next six months, the doc was very hopeful that won't be the case due to his findings. 3yo's now on 2x/daily drugs for the next 2 years minimum... please pray with me that he tolerates them well and that we don't have to move on to anything stronger.

Thank you again for all your prayers. I truly am deeply thankful.

Prayers.

I don't know where you live, but my friend's 3YO had a similar situation a few years ago and it was Lyme Disease. A few weeks of abx cleared it right up, thankfully.

The Western Blot they did for Lyme was negative, and as far as we know he's never been bitten by a tick... does anyone know more about Lyme...should I still be worried about it under those circumstances?

I do know that the tests for Lymes do have a significant rate of false negatives.. so yes it shouldn't be totally dismissed
