Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am very excited to introduce my first original knitting pattern VIANNEY. However, before I release it I would like to get two lucky volunteers to test knit it.

Requirements
::The skill level is adventurous beginner. You will need to K, P, DS st (there is a picture tutorial to walk you through this easy stitch) and change colors.
::By July 9th I would like:
     .Dishcloth finished
.Feedback on any errors, confusing wording or suggestions
.Finished project posted on Ravelry (or after I get my patterned set up)

If you are interested please PM me. I will get your address and send you the yarn to knit this dishcloth and electronically send you the pattern. I will be available to email support if any questions arise.

Thanks for everyones help! This project has been such a labor or love that it’s very exciting for me to be in the final stages of this project.

VIANNEY is up on Ravelry and my Etsy shop

The one thing that came out from the test knitting is that I didn't explain the concept of the dishcloth well.

The inspiration for this dishcloth pattern came from the desire to live St. Therese's little way more fully---to do little things with great love!

VIANNEY, is a dishcloth designed to resemble a priest’s collar, to visually remind you to pray for our priests as we sanctify our daily tasks.

I have a few other designs knit up that I need to write the pattern for....so keep checking on Rav or Etsy for the new patterns!

Knitting Friends...this is a terrific pattern! I was one of Betsy’s lucky test knitters, and I loved it! I ended up buying the pattern for two of my girlfriends, once they saw it at our knitting night at my house, they oooed and aaahed over it, and thought it was very, very cleaver. I didn’t feel right just handing the pattern to them, so I purchased it off of Betsy’s ravelry page....which is very, very easy to do. They were surprised by it in their email box later that evening. I didn’t know you could do that with Ravelry, purchase a pattern and send it to someone else’s email as a gift....how cool is that? IF you aren’t on Ravelry, get over there!! IT is fun!!

Promise, she didn’t put me up to this, but I think the whole concept is so sweet, I am hoping she’ll get those other patterns written up soon!

Terrific job, Betsy!

Thanks, 4 Lads Mom, for your nice comments.

I didn't know that you could buy patterns as gifts and send it to peoples email. How cool is that? I think I will be doing that for Christmas to a few friends this year.

BTW, Betsy, is that your own quote in your signature line? I love it!

Thanks! The answer to your question is yes and no.

My quote comes from Phillippians 4:8.

"For the rest, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever modest, whatsoever just, whatsoever holy, whatsoever lovely, whatsoever of good fame, if there be any virtue, if any praise of discipline, think on these things." Phillippians 4:8

The first time that I read Phil 4:8 I was blown away. It perfectly summed up all that I have ever tried to accomplish with making rosaries for the past 15 years. I have always wanted the quality and beauty of my work to inspire prayer and awe of God in others. I now have adopted this as my guiding versus in all the I create.

Did I answer you question?

I'm late here b/c I was out of town last week but I was another test knitter and loved making it too! I didn't know about being able to send someone a pattern like that by email either.

I plan on making several of these as Christmas gifts for friends in our parish.

Happy (belated) Feast of St. John Vianney!

St. John Vianney is the patron of parish priests, which is why I named this dishcloth after him.
