Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hello, hoping to get some advice on how to keep feeling well after seven pregnancies, twins who are 23 months and a newborn.

I had to have a c-section these last two pregnancies and my newborn is only a week old.

Over the years I have had to eat better and better and better. Now I am down to just about having to eat everything in it's natural form, no processed anything, needing to eat many small meals it seems or else I get light headed. The most drastic is when I weaned the twins pretty much cold turkey a little over a year ago.

I've had my sugar tested and all tests come out fine, but it's almost as though I feel hypoglocemic or am I just really depleted? I have upped my vitamin intake trying to add all the good I can, but still if I don't eat a good meal, I feel faint.

I'm praying for it to be this season in my life with giving a lot of my body to babies and maybe not enough calories? Worry about losing baby weight later?

Anyone else been through this? I would love to know as it's starting to make me crazy! Thanks and God bless to you all.

Celeste

Have your adrenals and thyroid checked out. Could be a mineral deficiency or hormonal imbalance (esp since you just gave birth). Eat lots of protein. What about iron levels? Any major blood loss?

Those are the things I would check into.

Sorry, trying totype with a sleeping baby.

I'm praying for ya!

God Bless you for being open to life over and over and giving yourself to your babies. Eat a lot ( you probably need ALOT more calories than you are getting and tell the doctor what you are feeling. You are probably also sleep deprived. I agree with thyroid checking. I had a priest once tell me to remember the words of Christ at the Altar "This is My Body, I give it up for You." God knows your needs. God Bless you!

If you think it might be a mineral deficiency,Spirulina (a blood sugar balancer) is a mineral power house if you like natural. I order mine from Mountain Rose Herbs. I also feel better if I drink fresh squeezed lemonade with a pinch of cayanne (or a pill of cayanne if you're wimpy like me ) I hope you find something that works, and I'll send my prayers.

Thank you all for your suggestions and prayers. I will try each one. I guess I need to remember to eat really well, sleep well and listen to my body. God will speak in the little things and reveal to me if there is more to be done.

Thanks ladies!

Celest,
I just remembered, When I was expecting my twins, my hormones went out of balance and I felt Aweful . I used Wild Yam cream (natural dhea ) and made sure I got lots of protine and H2O, and I felt 100% better . Hope this helps!
Prayers,
Gloria

It may be related to yeast overgrowth, considering the fact that you just had a C-section with its attending antibiotics and you have had a C-section before. (If you have taken antibiotics in the past or if you have problems with thrush before, I would definitely consider this.) After all my C-sections I often had vertigo for months. I didn't understand it but I felt terrified I'd drop one of the babies. After my last C-section and its complications I was given an antifungal drug because I ended up spending months with a fungal infection around my incision site. I was AMAZED at the change in everything. I dropped 6 pounds overnight and my head stopped swimming. I had a lot of other improvements, too.

The biggest change I have made in order to control the yeast (candida) is to give up grains, sugar, and milk. I try to follow the list of foods recommended for the GAPS diet. I take a probiotic and cod liver oil, and that really helps. I also have about a teaspoon to a tablespoon of coconut oil a day. (I stir it in my coffee.)

I had my twins and #6 22 months apart and I have to say, that I do also think you really need to focus on rebuilding your body however you think you need to! Twins take so much out of you. You need to make sure you are getting enough protein and healthy fats.
