Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I picked up a book (chapter book) by Roger Duvoisin at a used book sale this year. I recognized his name from the Petunia and Veronica books, but I couldn't find much on this series.

Borzoi Books for Young People, published by Alfred A. Knopf, 1940s.

Roger Duvoisin wrote:
::They Put Out To Sea: The Story of the Map
::Four Corners of the World
::And There was America

Agnes Danforth Hewes
::Spice Ho! An Age of Discovery
::Spice and the Devil's Cave

Mary Graham Bonner
::Canada and Her Story

Pierre Berton
::Stampede for Gold: The Story of the Klondike

The one I picked up is "They Put Out To Sea". It's an interesting story of the map. It doesn't flow with a whole living story, but chapters on important times that began map making. It is somewhat living, but not riveting...if that makes sense.

Just curious if anyone else has come across any of these and highly recommend them, or just move along.
