Our printer "works" but the pages come out blank.. so.. I'm searching for a new printer!!
Would you ladies be willing to help me search for something (I'd prefer wireless b/c I cna get on the laptop a LOT easier than I can the desktop upstairs)
And what are your thoughts on the CIS?? I'm a little frightened of the voided warranty, but ink prices are insane!
Thanks!!
BTW< this is the one I'm looking at right now

Check out this thread. I just got a cheap hp printer from WM last week. I'd love to sink some money into a good one, but I don't have the extra cash right now...

Ooh, I've been thinking about a laser printer off and on for a couple years now. They're much faster and easier on ink, too, aren't they? But I still do a lot of copies, and then I'd need a separate printer for that! I've also heard that the Kodak all-in-ones are really good, because the ink is much cheaper for them.

One more question... anyone have any idea if there are affordable wireless laser printers that ALSO scan??
Or would it be best to have 2 different machines for that?

Krystin,
We have a Color Laser Jet, which I absolutely love. But while the toner doesn't need to be replaced as quickly as ink cartridges, the toner cartridges are expensive! It always gets my hubby on edge.
I always like laser over the ink because it doesn't run. And it's been a wonderful tool to print out art and such for school work.
I have a separate scanner, but we keep talking about having a workhorse b&w laser printer that can scan and copy and fax and save the color for the color jobs. Cheaper to replace only the b&w cartridge more often than the multiple cartridges for the color.
I also want to note that in the "old" days, I used to be able to shake the cartridges to get the last bit of toner out, but now everything is so controlled that the computer tells me how many pages I have left for the toner. When it detects it running out, I have no workaround. I HAVE to replace it.

We have a Canon MX310 that we love.
I also got on sale $60 or so a Brother Laser that only does B&W. I used it until we ran out toner, etc. It's great for copies!! and so now it's in the basement but once I get toner we'll use it again.

What I like about my B/W laser printer (HP 1020) is that with the inkjets.. I used color so rarely that I never could use up the color.. and then it would get weird and stop working.. I mean.. I had at least 2 printers that would have saved me money to replace the printer when it ran out of ink.. than to try and replace the ink and then end up replacing the printer anyway.
But my laser printer can sit for a while and then run tons of pages and does fine.. where the ink jets would get fussy after sitting for a while. Sure the toner is expensive.. but no more so than the ink cartridges. Because each toner does sooooooooooooo much more than an ink cartridge.

I ordered that color laser printer.. I hope and pray that it isn't as "disposable" as the ink jet ones..
