Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Temperatures here are increasing, as is our thirst! What are you drinking to stay refreshed and hydrated? What beverages do you purchase? Make yourself? Frugal tips are always welcome.

I just squeezed a key lime into ice water with a splash of pomegranate concentrate and 2 drops of stevia. Yum!

Love,

mostly we drink water.. I LOVE the ice crusher on my fridge so that I can have crushed ice in it.

otherwise for special drinks.. I like lemonade.. raspberry lemonade.. orange or pineapple juice mixed with sprite (some grenedine makes it better).

I've never found any tea, including herbal teas, that I like iced.

I drink a lot of coconut water! So good :) Pour a tall glass and add some ice. You can also flavor it with pineapple or mango, delicious!

Coconut water doesn't taste anything like coconut (just in case you're hoping!). I usually drink ice water (I don't like ice in water unless I'm really hot), but this weekend we were working tons in the yard and lemonade was sooo nice. I'm way too lazy (and don't plan ahead enough) to serve anything else!

Jodie -- the juice and sprite sounds good and easy. Maybe I can try that for a change on a "special" day.

that's it Janette.. when I'm pregnant it's my "party drink".. even if that just means sitting with my dh in the evening or a big BBQ with lots of people.. it feels special so when I can't have the wine or wine cooler or blended drink (though my dh will make those without alcohol for me ) or whatever.. I have something festive but easy for me to have.

I'm a fan of cold coffee: half coffee, half milk, a pinch of sugar and cinnamon.

Iced tea for me, strong, no lemon or sugar. This year I'm planning to try making an iced-tea concentrate to have in the fridge--it should save space that way.

Like Jodie, I also do orange juice with Sprite (reminds me of one of my favorites, Orangina ).

Cold lemonade! And just plain cold water with a bit of lemon juice is good for when I'm trying to watch calories but want something refreshing.

We have iced coffee (2/3 C ground coffee and 2 C cold water in the French press in the fridge over night...it is strong so I mix it with some water and a lot of milk and some sugar) in the refrigerator all the time. I make green tea lemonade (like a 1/2 and 1/2 or Arnold Palmer (?) with green tea) by putting the tea bags in water in the fridge overnight as well. We have an iced tea maker but I'm not sure it is worth keeping while we try to clear out extra stuff. The cold brew method is so easy and tastes great.
I need to get our ice maker fixed; the crushed ice is my favorite!

While studying South America, my daughter found a recipe for our new favorite drink

fresh mint, lime, ginger, stevia leaves (we have a nice pot of it in the kitchen) Put in pot of water, bring to a gentle boil. Turn off heat and let mixture sit for awhile,(we usually let it sit overnight) Pour into a pitcher over ice. You can adjust the concentration to taste.

My "normal" drink is a tall glass of ice water with squeezed lemon and a bit of stevia

I just bought big jug of premixed Pomegranate Margarita! :) I plan to blend it with ice and enjoy after dinner.

As for daytime drinks, I'm liking seltzer water with fresh mint right now.

My friend made a gingerade for me this week. YUM! She made a simple syrup with ginger then added lemon juice and sparkling water.

Love,
