please say a prayer for us, I just realized last night that both my debit card and CC were stolen online from a data base...I am traveling up to TN tomorrow.. now with no cards for gas and hotel and food.. The bank has been helpful in trying to repair the charges ( now over $1000) mostly for online games/video sites and Apple and Itunes... They told me I can use my checkbook, but still I feel so invaded.. Trying to see God's hand in this..possibly to teach me to be cautious while John is gone??
Edit to original post.. I should preference my subject line... so many things have gone opposite of prayers,.. first baby Matthew, John's job followed by deployment, then our dog got cancer...move from Texas.. now hoping to head to TN for a new house.. All in God's hands...
Thank you ALL for so many many prayers you've provided for our family over the years. Luckily it looks like we caught this early enough and the bank ( USAA) has been so very helpful. I've reported every transaction and I think we will be reimbursed for everything , in time... God bless

remember to carry extra cash for the places that won't accept checks.
Also will the hotels want your credit card.. I know you can pay however but I think they want to actually see the credit card when you check in.. but I'm not sure.. been a while since I dealt with it.

Emily, prayers for you! I wish I could be there in person to give you a big hug and a little of the real support that I know you are feeling so deeply the lack of right now. Each day is one day closer to John's return.

Praying for you, Emily. This is a lot of stress to carry alone.

I have to add here that this is the main reason I keep an American Express card. They will overnight a new card to you anywhere in the world. I have had to have this done, and I am was so thankful that they have this service. I can't imagine what I would have done if I had been out of town and no way to replace any credit cards. The other cards took 7-10 days from the time I notified the companies that the card had been compromised. I don't use my AmEx very often, but I keep it just in case.
Don't leave home without it....

Oh, no- what a hassle! My parents have had this happen to them twice, and we've had it once... on-line number theft.
I am so sorry, Emily. Especially with travels coming up, you don't need this!
I am praying that it will be quickly resolved.

Oh Emily, we had a similar thing happen a few years ago, when we were going out of state for dd's wedding. I echo Jodie's advice to carry cash and you may definitely want to check ahead of time about payment policies with the hotel you plan to stay in. Although we had confirmed reservations, the hotel where we stayed wanted a $500 deposit, even though we were paying in full with cash in advance....it seems crazy, but it's probably so they can cover any damages using a creditcard, but would be out of luck with cash paying customers. If I remember right, they would not accept a check either. A quick call ahead of your travels might be very worthwhile! So sorry to hear you are dealing with this....we will be praying for you, for safe travels with as little stress or complications as possible! May God and His holy angels and saints watch over you and give you peaceful, grace-filled travels.

Emily, though I haven't been as regular in my posting the last couple of years, I remember you all often and hold you in my prayers. Persevere ... Our Lady is holding your family close in this sharing you all are doing of her suffering. I know you know this.
I am praying lots that the bank stuff continues to work out. We've had our accounts broken into more than once -- it's always stressful and a headache to resolve, and you all have so much more than that to deal with right now. Sending many prayers!
