My niece Rebekah was diagnosed with a vascular tumor (they are not sure if it is benign or cancerous) that has wrapped itself around the main artery at the base of her brain. (I know I am not using the correct medical terms, but this is my limited understanding of it!).
She is scheduled for surgery in Little Rock this morning at 8:30 CST...The surgery has been planned for months and will take 24 hours as they have to cut into her skull, remove her eye socket and then begin work on removing the tumor.
My sil and bil are devout Christians with a strong faith. Rebekah is 14 and wants to be a nurse missionary when she grows up...Please storm heaven for her and her family as they are all standing vigil in prayer at the hospital and it will be a very long 24 hours.

Hello All,
I received two great email updates from Rebekah's mom:
#1: Dear saints in Our Precious Christ, The doctors send out messages that Bekah is "still under the microscope and will be for some time. Everything is going fine." about every 1 1/2 hours. Give thanks to the LORD for He is good! Every once in a while I get a nervous stomach---everyone who knows me knows that worry is not part of my character and I know Bekah/and or the OR needs prayer. My mom sees angels surrounding all those in there with Bekah and I do,too. the 1st verse I ever memorized when I first became a Christian has /and is so present on my heart. Be strong and of good courage, be not frightened nor dismayed for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9. He is here.
#2: Dear Friends, Our God is an Awesome God----yes, He is THE God. They have finished the nuerosurgery part much sooner than expected!! After only 7 hours they are closing and said she has done exceptionally well. Closing will take about 1 hour then the plastic surgeon will begin his work. The nurse was just elated to come out and tell us. We love you , LORD. Your love is more than we can even imagine!!! Thank you for your prayers and partnership in this.

Most recent update on Rebekah. It is such a great update; really a miracle!  :
The surgery is done and Rebekah is being moved to ICU. All went very well, during the surgery the doctors had to give her five to six units of blood which was expected. And By God's mercy the layer of skin survived the incision so that they did not have to do a skin graph when closing up. The plastic surgeon said that saved about 8 or more hours of surgery. They are more than pleased how she did and think they got it all ,though a MRI will be done to tell for sure. they had to shave 60 percent of her hair ----that will be tough on her. but God is good and she is doing well. Pat and I get to stay in ICU with her tonight. Her siblings want to stay here until they see her. How I thank God for the boys and Katie. I have no greater joy than to see my children love and serve the Lord TOGETHER. That's a little different than the verse, but you know what I mean. I am on the edge of tears---tears of Joy. She is expected to be in ICU for about two days.
