Anyone else have this? I'm looking for natural cures for this. I've been told iodine, peppermint oil and hot then cold compresses. Any other ideas.

Thanks!

My mother has this. She has been told to avoid caffeine like the plague. That that exacerbates it. She still has to have mammograms redone every time, though.

I think it is one of those things that you just learn to expect to have to deal with. Hers are not painful, just a pain in the behind when she has her annual exams.

I do.

I have not found anything to help it. Most of the women in my family have it too. It gave me a real scare when I had to have my first mamo at like 22 years old. But now it is just an annoyance, except when I am sore.

(And I have used peppermint oil EXTENSIVELY for IBS and it did not do a thing for my, um, girls.)

I've heard the caffeine thing, too. So far I have not been able to give up Diet Coke, though!

Thanks, ladies. Yes, it is a bother. I've had to do a mammogram every year since I was 21. Then I'm always told my tissue is not dense enough so I then have to get sonograms (I ask why can't I just do the sonogram but they always say they want to try a mammo first...to make more money??).

I try to avoid caffeine but it's not easy. Sigh. I'm working on it.

I have this and it seems to run in the family because so does my mom & both her sisters. They say to avoid caffiene & smoking, but you know, today I saw a news article online stating caffiene could prevent one type of breast cancer. Can't seem to win one way, there is always a pro and a con.

My mother & aunt have had some cysts drained by the doctor which provided relief. I would like to see about doing this too, but they told me after the test that it was tissue so I don't know. Mine change all the time bigger, smaller, more, less. The pain can be non-existent and then extreme. Always painful and enlarged around my time of the month. I read about 60% of women suffer from this.

I do recommend some of these things that I think help me with pain and keeping it under control; avoiding hormone injected meat & processed foods. I try to buy organic where I can. I'm learning about milk and hormones now and I highly recommend reading up on this. I really believe I noticed a difference when I started avoiding those meats. It's worth noting that none of these suggestions are an "overnight cure" & will likely take time (like months) before you notice any real difference. Just think how many years you've been poisoning the body. Surely, it needs time to flush out.

I take vitamins and supplements each day. I try to get these things in my diet, but where lacking I take B-100's, omega-3, vit E, evening primrose oil, & calcium. I really do find these things helpful. I try to eat my greens and seems to help too. Also, drink LOTS of water, because cysts are filled with dirty yucky fluids and I just think since water flushes out our systems drinking lots of it may very well help flush these!

Another thing worth looking at is the cosmetics and bodycare products you use. I used to run a bath & bodycare business & I have learned a lot about the ingredients and how they can make us sick. Definitely using natural deodorant (aluminum-free) and not anti-perspirant. Anti-perspirant clogs up the pores to prevent sweating and blocked glands can mean cysts. Where else do you think dirty ole sweat has to go? It doesn't disappear because we put anti-perspirant on, it just doesn't come out! Another debatable issue, but I think you know where I stand on the issue.

Also, getting your hair dyed. It's surprising at first to learn about these things and I know this is a huge debate, but I am a firm believer in that these products are dangerous for our health and certainly do mess up our hormones and make us sick. I am all for natural products. This is also worth reading up about.
