I see that Marianna at Saint Benedict Academy and I have had the same quandry of late.
I hope this encourages you to hang onto those early ideals. They are precious commodities.

Beautiful blog post Cay. Thanks for linking.
By-the-way, I like the easels your daughters are using in the picture. Where did you find them?

Yes, please tell us! Your picture of those easels sent me on a 20 minute google search for something similar!

I was going to ask the same thing! I'd like to know where all those supplies came from, as well as the beautiful quilt! Plus, how do you keep the grass and dirt from staining the quilt. Oh wait, yeah, I have a BOY! ...off to read the discussions about boys...

I have a copy of Suzie Andres "Homeschooling with Gentleness" in my bedroom book basket just waiting to be read. I remember reading a copy of one of her talks years ago and was intrigued by her . I need to read it soon. Have you read it? And if you know, how is this new one different?
I love those easels too !

I have both books on my nightstand for reading. I've started the first and it's really good. I like the second because it has essays from various unschoolers and you get a wider picture of unschooling.

I believe the box easel pictured is this one from Art Advantage. I've seen it from $20-40 depending on the dealer.
We have a similar box easel which we got from Hobby Lobby with a 40% off coupon. The drawer pulls out the side instead of front.
And yes, a lovely post, Cay. Thanks.

Cay, I also loved the photo of them drawing. What art program were they using.
Your blog is great, btw.

Really, truly wish I had a better answer to your questions, dear ladies.
I have looked and searched and tried to find a link to the art easel boxes my girls have but...
No luck!
Here's my post about those dear, long-lasting easels:
