Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

So I had one of those dreams that pops you from situation to situation. I don't remember all of it, but one part is stuck in my head this morning. I "popped" into confession and Father was saying, "Oh, I know the Saint, here he his." At which point he shows me a picture in a book of a Saint in a robe with a staff and a chicken peeking out from behind his leg. It was a black, white, and red somewhat impressionistic type drawing. Then Father says, "Let's pray his prayer." and then I "pop" out into another dream.

Weird, huh?    Have you ever come across such a picture? I searched for something this morning, but all I came up with was that St. Brigid is the patron of poultry farmers.

Without looking up anything, could it be St. Isidore? I thought he was the patron of farmers? I can’t remember......

That's what I was going to guess...but I can't remember how he's usually pictured.

Check this out.

This is very similar to what I saw. Now I'm intrigued!

Oops! I meant to also say, why would St. Peter be pictured with a rooster?

Okay, duh! The rooster crowed three times! I'm a little slow today.

Could be St. Anthony. According to this site he is often pictured with a staff and rooster. He was also my Saint of the year that I chose in January. I need to do some more reading about him.

I also found St. Vitus, which is said to be often pictured with a rooster.
