Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has any one used this series? How do you like them? Thinking of using them for high school.... Any opinions appreciated!

Thanks!

I've "mostly" read the first two. They are very Heavy history books. Extremely detailed. It might be better to use them as a resource for each particular period but get lots of other books to back up. Just my $.02.

My dd 16 is using the first one, The Founding of Christendom, along with the syllabus from MODG that goes with it, right now. When asked, she just said she likes it.

She did not like Christ the King, Lord of History, or Christ & the Americas.

My daughter used CTKLOH in for 7th/8th grade, and is now using Christ and the Americas. But she calls CTKLOH a bit "boring". She did like the book 1917: Red Banners, White Mantle by Warren Carroll , so I'm thinking the Christendom series might be more suitable for her. Thanks for the advice, Mary and Laura. Mary, we do supplement with other living books esp. when they get bored with the spines -- we just set the spine aside until they're ready to pick it up again. I really appreciate your input

I have thought of using these as my history spine for high school. I know I could not sign up for MODG, but would their plans that go with the Warren Carrol books be available for purchase?

My dd does a lot when she has time to dig on whatever the interest of the moment is - and is somewhat bogged down with some of the stuff we used this year. However, we need something to keep us all in forward motion and I need some specific paper idea topics. I really want an outside review of paper writing - and have contemplated Kolbe for that unless there is some other option.
