Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has anyone tried to teach their small children more than one foreign language at once?
I have 5 children - 2 teenagers by birth, 1 adopted Filipino boy, age 3, and 2 adopted 1/2 Hispanic children, 1 and 2 years.
I would like for them to learn both Spanish and Tagalog. But I'm afraid that it would confuse them. Right now we're just learning a little Spanish (just what we pick up from Dora the Explorer).

Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Terrie

No personal experience here but my friend, native Indonesian, speaks Indonesian and English to her kids (they lived in the US for about five years) and her husband (native Dutch) speaks Dutch and English to the kids. The oldest boy spoke really late, because his mind was trying to get everything straight. He knew it, but wasn't confident enough to speak. His younger sister speaks all three with ease, and spoke at a normal age.

Now they are in Korea and I assume they are learning Korean.

I say, go for it, but try to speak only one language per sentence.
