Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone know if there's a webcam for Times Square? Seems like I heard there was one, but I'm looking to confirm this rumour and hopefully find out how to access it, too. Anyone know anything about this? We're doing a unit study on "A Cricket in Times Square", and I thought it would be a fun rabbit trail for my little country bumpkins to actually SEE Times Square in action!

Thanks for any ideas!

That's a great idea, Kelly. There is a Times Square cam - or should I say several cams - to give you different views. Hope this helps your study.

Kelly, do you need photos of anything in particular? I can send Libby over there between classes on Saturday with her camera...

Also, have you looked up Manhattan on Google Earth?

Nice webcams, Mary...

You know, Times Square has totally changed since the Cricket books were written. It is a much more pleasant place to visit, but it is crowded, as you can see. Check the webcam back on Saturday when it will be very crowded, especially if the weather is good.

I love the shot of the Sony Mega-Tron...you can watch tv on the internet via webcam .

Oops...I see it's a Panasonic NBC TV.

Oops MacBeth,
Sorry I didn't respond in time to your nice offer to send Libby galavanting down to Times Square with her camera! A belated thanks for the offer! So far, I think we're covered with the Web cam. My children have really been enjoying watching it. We were able to come up with some other shots of the Subway station there, too, so I think we're good to go. However, some day we will come to NYC ourselves, at which time we might have to make you all come to Times Square in person and play tour guide, ok?

Speaking of such things, we FINALLY got our violin back from Arcieri's. My poor dh had to make a mission of violin mercy!

Thanks again, all, for your help with Eyes on the Big Apple!
