I found Ruth Stout's gardening book and snatched it up so quickly I laughed at myself and for only a dollar, too!

Library book sales are the best. I miss my annual outing to the Virginia Beach Friends of the Library book sales...a wagonload of books usually set me back $20 - $30. Sigh.

I used to never think about the library for purchasing books. But as of late, I've been making biweekly trips to see our Friends of the Library book sales. We have found some wonderful treasures (especially OOP) ... even better than our Goodwill store (lots more "twaddle")
Good for you

This IS so exciting, Liz!!! Thrilled for you!!
Library book sales are one of my MOST FAVORITE things!! At our book sales hardcovers are a quarter and paperbacks a dime! Definitely worth digging through the boxes for the treasures!!

They are great, but our local one is downtown in the city, and last time I went, I got a parking ticket for going over at the meter They must have been STANDING there waiting for it to expire (I'd put the limit on it) because when I actually got the kids loaded into the van, the clock only said 10 minutes past when it was supposed to expired. I was SO proud of myself until I looked up and saw the ticket.
Anyway, it sort of took the bloom off the rose for any savings
Seriously debating whether it is worth the risk this year.

That would be upsetting!
Maybe ask dh to drop you off...and take the kids for ice cream and play in the park....and pick you and your book treasures up when you're done?

It would be nice if their sale were on a Saturday. I'd definitely do that then!

Great find, Liz! It's a fun book. I need to reread.
I prefer to hit my MIL's library book sale, and I was so disappointed to hear it conflicts with another family date. So I've had to miss the fall and now the spring. Definitely bummed... Last year they were purging the Rumer Godden books.
